The
Golden Rule works with any personal relationship. You can apply it also to the
way you interact with your customers…treat them as you would like to be treated.
Here
are three customer service skills that make customers feel fully appreciated:
1.
The Greeting. Smile…be friendly
and courteous. If you know their name, use it; being addressed by name will
make your customers feel welcome and important. (And, of course, don’t forget
your “thank-yous” at the end of the interaction.)
2.
The Conversation. Focus on the
customer (no distractions!) and listen actively for how you can serve them.
After all, your job is to provide a solution and satisfy their need whether by
helping with a purchase, answering a question, or providing a repair.
3.
Quick and Thorough
Response.
The faster and more completely you can solve any issues the happier your
customers will be. And why not ask them if there is anything else you can do
for them?
